Audience

The club also holds an annual bonfire night that sees over 5000 people to attend. The longstanding event is hugely popular in the local area and has become the local ‘go to’ Bonfire event within the region. The evening includes two firework displays, a huge bonfire and a fairground.
First held in 2017 the beer festival is now a firm fixture on the club’s event calendar. In the first year over 900 people visited and sampled over 30 different ales and 15 different ciders. In 2018, the success of the first year saw the event grow by over 50% and 1600 people attended the event over the three days and has continued to grow each year.
The club also has a function room that is booked for the majority of the year – meaning that any advertisement for your business will gain traction with an audience far wider than the club itself.
We’re an extremely social club who pride themselves on being warm, friendly and family-orientated. The only fixture we have not hosted is a full-blown Worcester County Cricket Club fixture.
We are extremely proud of our youth section which started out over 35 years ago when a member decided he would like to introduce cricket to the younger local community regardless of their ability, race, age, gender or if they had a pair of trainers – the club would welcome any youngster that was interested in cricket, providing them with a safe and enjoyable environment in which to play the sport. These are the foundations we continue to base our youth section on today and will continue to do so in the future.
Halesowen CC is a private members club run by a committee; the committee is elected at the AGM. There are currently senior and youth cricket sub-committees, which fall under the category of 'playing cricketers'. The club also operates a social membership section.
With over 150 years of history, generations of families have been part of the tradition that is Halesowen Cricket Club. Whether through our five Birmingham Premier League and Worcestershire County League teams, successful youth section, our All Stars coaching and training sessions or close links with local schools and colleges; Halesowen Cricket Club provides an unrivalled social sporting provision to the local community.
We are extremely proud of our achievements. The hard work and dedication of the club committee, members, players, and parents have been the backbone to success over the years.
History of Our Club
From its founding until 1948, Halesowen Cricket Club played at the Grove Recreation Ground (named the "Stourbridge Road Ground" until 1929). In 1948, the club temporarily moved to the newly-built Manor Abbey Sports Ground which it shared with Halesowen Athletics and Cycling Club.
In 1954, club president Dan Wellings announced that "it was time that the club had a ground of its own" and, with the financial support of the Seth Somers Trust, submitted plans to build a new ground and pavilion on the Grange estate. The club officially opened Seth Somers Park, their current home ground, on 27 April 1957 in a match against Solihull. The 3rd and 4th teams play at the second ground based at the Earls High School, Halesowen.
On 31 March 2021, the club announced via its website that it would be applying to the Seth Somers Trust to rename the ground "The Trevor Argent Memorial Ground, Seth Somers Park" in memory of late chairman Trevor Argent.
Aspirations
With membership and crowd attendances rising, we have ambitious plans to continue to develop the infrastructure at the club and grow our teams.
Naturally, we want to support our sponsors and build them in to our club on a strategic level — allowing all of our partners to benefit from our ever-improving facilities, expanding audience and our community involvement.
